As we enter into year five of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) implementation, chances are there have been many personnel changes within your workforce system. These changes require the new staff to familiarize themselves with the WIOA statutes, regulations, and guidance available to become proficient in their work.
Fortunately, the Innovation and Opportunity Network (ION) is available to assist as it is designed to support state and local workforce development boards, system professionals, and employers in finding the technical assistance (TA) resources needed to operationalize the WIOA vision.
To aid in your staff development efforts, ETA will be re-issuing some of our frequently viewed WIOA TA resources. Beginning with the One-Stops and American Job Centers Focus Area, we will roll out recommended materials on a bi-weekly basis. Our aim is that states and local areas will have the needed resources to provide staff development training, resulting in a stronger workforce team. The topics to be covered include: Functional Alignment in the AJC, AJC Fact Sheet, AJC Integration, MOU Overview, MOU Toolkit, MOU Local & State Fund Mechanisms, MOU: Workforce Development Board and Partner Training, AJC Staff Development Training, Youth Desk Aid, and WIOA MythBusters.
